Question: How much does EHD charge for new construction design & plans?
Answer: Anywhere from $1.00 – $1.50 per square foot of living space (depending on the complexity of the design.) During our first consultation, we will discuss your desired square footage and a price per square foot will be determined based on the complexity of that design.
A 50% deposit on that goal will be due upfront. The final square footage may fluctuate during the design process, depending on your needs and desires. The difference will be settled when the drawings are complete. A minimum deposit of $250 is required for any jobs less than $1000.
Question: How much does EHD charge for an addition design & plans to an existing structure?
Answer: $65 per hour. During our first consultation, we will discuss your desired addition. A 50% deposit on that goal will be due upfront. The difference will be settled when the drawings are complete. A minimum deposit of $250 is required for any jobs less than $1,000.
Question: Do these prices include electrical plans?
Answer: No, most counties or cities do not require electrical plans to pull permits. If it is required in your county, the fee is .15 cents per square foot.
Question: What should I expect for my money?
Answer: You will receive all the drawings necessary for your builder to price, pull permits and build your dream home: foundation/basement plans, floor plans, all elevations, roof detail plans, any needed sectional views or details and electrical plans (if required.)
Question: How many copies of the drawings will I receive?
Answer: As many as you would like to print! You will be given a PDF copy of your dream home on a CD or Zip drive. Additionally, you will receive your drawings via email. Most county code departments today would rather have digital drawings due to filing space.
Question: Can we make changes after we are finished and will there be a charge?
Answer: Absolutely! If the changes needed are not major cosmetic or structural, the charge can be zero to minimal. If charges are required it is $65 per hour.

Answer: Since 2002
Question: Are you a licensed architect?
Answer: No, I am an architectural draftsman/designer. You are not legally required to hire a licensed architect to design your dream home or addition in most states.
